Greg has nearly 40 years of experience in the electric utility and telecommunications industry, including serving as Assistant Manager/Distribution System Superintendent and Acting Treasurer at a north central Washington PUD. Greg was selected as NoaNet's first CEO and helped launch NoaNet in 2000. Since its formation connecting one rural PUD, NoaNet has grown to interconnecting more than 80 telecommunications carriers in Washington to multiple Internet hubs and distribution points. Greg earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Central Washington University.
Dave Spencer, Chief Operating Officer
Prior to joining NoaNet, David was founder and Chief Executive Officer of a leading information technology company in Boise, Idaho. His background also includes management and sales for a large consulting engineering firm focusing on information technology and telecommunications. Dave earned a B.S. in Physics from the College of Idaho and a Masters degree in Operations Research from Oregon State University.
Rob Kopp, Chief Technology Officer
Rob has spent most of his 30+ years professionally focused on
development of large-scale telecommunications systems. After graduating from
Boise State University, Rob joined one of Silicon Valley's first technology startup's,
ROLM Corporation, the first digital PBX. IBM acquired ROLM in 1987 and in 1990
Rob was recognized by IBM's Presidential Award for Professional Excellence. Rob
served IBM/ROLM in technical and business roles. In 1992 Rob joined POWER Engineers to develop
its IT/Telecom practices. During Rob's tenure at POWER he led innovative projects
nationally and internationally. While at POWER, Rob was consulting to
Washington PUD's and was afforded the opportunity to work on the initial planning/development
on what now is known as NoaNet. Rob
joined NoaNet in Feb 2000 and led NoaNet technical operations through its initial
startup and now focuses on strategic direction for NoaNet and it's members. Rob
is married to his wife Sheri for 30+ years who have two children Dillon and
Cheyenne, one Grandchild, Emmy Mae.
Mike Henson, Chief Security Officer
Mike brings nearly two decades of experience in the telecommunications to NoaNet, where is the chief security officer. Past experiences include working at Oracle as a technical manager for telecommunications and utilities and working at Netigy Corporation as security technical director and principal architect. Following service in the U.S. Navy, Mike attended the University of South Alabama and Southwest Missouri State University.
Duane Ball, Business Systems and Technology Director
Duane's experience in telecommunications includes sales and management with an emphasis in business operations, process and IT systems. Prior to joining NoaNet, Duane helped build and manage telecommunications networks for rural telecommunications and utility companies for the past 15 years. Duane earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Oregon State University.
Angela Bennink, Outreach and Communications Director
Angela joined Northwest Open Access Network in
April of 2007 managing large Data Center, ILEC and Cable Company accounts.
Working as an Account and Project Manager, she has had the opportunity to
lead large build projects in the center of Washington State connecting Data
Centers with 100G. Angela was instrumental
in creating the grants that were funded through the American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act. Through the grant projects
she moved into the role of directing the outreach and communications efforts of
NoaNet. Prior to working at NoaNet, Angela
managed a successful $40MM business in Medical Products working directly with
customers in Marketing and Product Development. In addition to Product and
Project Management experience, Angela has worked as a Polymer Chemist and
Process Engineer. Angela graduated with a Bachelors of Science in
Chemical Engineering from University of Washington in 1996.
John Fryling, Operations Director
John brings more than thirty years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including experience in a variety of management positions in operations and engineering. John is a proven telecom professional with a track record of achieving objectives, providing strong leadership, problem solving, and a commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous organizational improvement. John earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Washington University and is a retired veteran of the United States Coast Guard.
Paul Harding, Controller
Paul has over 21 years of experience in the finance industry, ranging from manufacturing to construction and finally telecommunications. Paul earned a B.A. in accounting from Washington State University.
Rich Nall, Network Coordinated Services Director
Rich brings over 26 years of experience in the telecom industry to NoaNet. He has overseen the deployment of large cellular and broadband networks and his experiences have included network engineering, outside plants, as well as business development and strategic direction. Prior to working with NoaNet, he led the broadband deployment of a major Washington State Public entity, was on the NoaNet board of directors, and worked at ATT (Cellular One) and Lockheed Martin. Rich has a B.S. in Telecommunications Management from City University.
Craig Nelsen, Sales and Marketing Director
Craig began his 26 years of experience in the Telecom industry in the hardware space representing Toshiba PBX/Key systems, he then worked for MCI in various roles including Sales Manager for both Retail and National Accounts. Craig then went to work for ATT and PageNet overseeing Sales, Marketing and Customer Care. In 1994 he began his career with Electric Lightwave/Integra Telecom over the span of 17 years, he built from the ground up their third party distribution channels, Director of Product Marketing and later became the Vice President of Carrier overseeing all P/L aspects of the department including Care, Project Management, Sales Engineering and Offer Management. NoaNet hired Craig in January of 2012 to oversee Sales and Marketing. Craig graduated from the Motion Picture Arts and Science Academy in 1984 and lives in Beaverton Oregon with his wife Angela and two children.
John Smith, Engineering Director
John brings with him over 25 years of experience in
telecommunications and business management. Prior to joining NoaNet John led one
of the largest publically owned Fiber-To-The-Premises (FTTP) build-outs in the
country. The FTTP network included the delivery of Internet, Video and Phone
services to primarily rural communities. He has worked in a diversity of areas including; network engineering,
outside plant engineering, application planning and development, regulatory
compliance, IT, SCADA and business process management. John received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from
Florida State University.
Chris Walker, Telecommunications Director
Chris has been with NoaNet for 15 years and has worked his way up from operations manager to operations and engineering manager to the telecommunications director position. Currently, Chris is working on overseas network growth and expansion, strategic planning, capital development of outside plants and competitive procurement. He was the executive director for the NoaNet BTOP construction build out and sets the architectural direction of the network facilities throughout the state. Prior to NoaNet, Chris served 12 years in the armed forces in various management and leadership roles.
