Dense Wavelengh Division Multiplexing. DWDM is the higher-capacity version of
WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing), which is a means of increasing the
capacity of fiber-optic data transmission systems through sending many
wavelengths of light down a single strand of fiber.
